We stopped in and had two great meals. I had a Roast Beef Open Faced, my wife had Greek Lasagna. Both were great. They heaped the food on our plates and the prices were very reasonable. Our waitress was kind of new. We had ordered some bread for the table and it never came - so by the end of the meal, we asked her to cancel it... no point in wasting bread if we were already finished. Unfortunately (for her) the manager was walking by at that instant. When we left, they comped us a loaf of home made bread!!! - Didn't have to but it was a very nice gesture. PS. we made it up to the waitress in her tip - so I hope she ended up happy too! All in all a great experience - and great customer service!

We were in the Daytona area this weekend and decided to stop into Steve's for breakfast before heading home. The service was outstanding and friendly. However, the food was just terrible!! If your a diner and you cannot even get better tasting coffee. You have much bigger issues. The breakfast menu was very limited. Based on our own personal experience only, this would be our one and only visit to this establishment. Yuck.

I was in Daytona visiting my Mom a few weeks ago and we decided to try this place out for breakfast; they serve both breakfast and dinner. Their menu consists of a variety of items to choose from: sandwiches, salads, seafood and steak entrees, as well as an extensive breakfast menu. This was my first visit and we went for their breakfast due to the positive reviews they've received over the past couple of months on yelp and other sites. The overall look and feel of this place is much to be desired, but the service and quality of the food makes up for it. I had scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, and skillet potatoes with a cup of coffee. What stood out for me was the bacon which was nice and crispy and the toast seemed to have been dipped in warm butter. I loved it! & last, the prices are really good, too. Breakfast for two in Atlanta can easily run you $20 or more. Our total bill was a little over $10! Can't argue with that...not at all! This is a great place to go for breakfast that feels like it was cooked right at home, for service that's fast and friendly, and prices that are just too good to be true! Check 'em out!

Amazing breakfast! Home made bread is on point. French toast was delicious. Prices are very low. The only negative thing was our service. We had an older waitress that just wasn't all that friendly or tentative.

Yuck!!! The breakfast food did not taste fresh at all. It was totally disgusting. I do not recommend this place at all.

I dined here for brunch with my family on Christmas morning. The service was pretty good, and the food was typical diner quality. My parents both had breakfast and seemed pretty satisfied, and my sister and I decided on lunch. I got the grilled cheese and fries (duh) and my sister the spaghetti and meatballs. She seemed satisfied enough with hers. I was disappointed with the amount of fries I received with my meal... It seemed to be only 5 or 6 steak fries that accompanied my sandwich. I ended up ordering another side, which was still pretty small in portion size. They do bring out some delicious bread complimentary, which my mom said that they back in-house. Yum yum. Overall, this is your typical diner and is a good choice if you want to support something local.

Good breakfast. Thats about it. Well the bread..the bread is amazing! I always look forward to that. Anytime I make it back into town family make sure we go here. (They are locals) I am never thrilled with this trip. It's mediocre. Food is bland and 85% of the time there is always something wrong with our order. Not how we ordered it, something is missing or its not cooked all the way or just cold. Wait staff can be a bit lazy. It's the typical diner staff who just take their time doing things. Don't pay attention to you. Not all the wait staff is like this. This would be a great restaurant to have apply to be on Restaurant Impossible! Just don't change the bread! That is really all I look forward to when we go.

By far one of the best hangover breakfast's I've ever had and I wasn't even hungover. The menu carries all of your standard diner favorites - including amazing omelettes and French toast. I can speak from experience on both. The toast was literally almost as big as my head so be warned that they aren't messing around when it comes to their homestyle toast. What they made up in food, they were lacking it ambiance. The diner looked like it was straight out of the 80s and hadn't been updated in quite some time. Thankfully the service was prompt and overshadowed any negative influences from the lacking dining experience. Our coffee cups were always full and my tummy and tastebuds were more than satisfied. This was a serious brunch destination.

I don't really come here looking for anything spectacular when it comes to food. The portions are large for everything your order and you will have to pick through the menu to find entrees that appeal. What does draw me back consistently are the fresh, dense, sourdough bread that they bake fresh every day as well as the soups that are made fresh. I LOVE the chicken orzo soup with the fresh bread toasted and a side of eggs poached medium. If you can get by only eating the soup and bread, do it and be happy. I can always find an entree to eat, but I always come back for the soup and bread.

My buddy and I were nostalgic for the old man's Steve Famous Diner on A1A. Steve knew how to run a restaurant and his breakfasts were to die for. Despite the reviews we decided to drive inland to check out the original restaurant. Steve's daughter seems to be running the place efficiently. I ordered ham, eggs and grits w/biscuit. The eggs over medium were as ordered. The grits slightly lumpy, the ham was the processed boneless type, and the biscuit was heated up in a microwave. Service good. Coffee fine. Atmosphere relaxed.

Clean, Spacious, Easy to Find, Friendly Good coffee and sweets - don't miss the baklava We just stopped for a bio break and coffee. Tempted by the pastry case, we tried the Rice Pudding, Apple pie and Baklava. Baklava shined. Lots of friendly attention from staff. Lots of regulars coming in for a meal, conversation.

Good ole diner feel. Good place to go if your favorite diner is too packed to wait for...

The problem is the place is not consistant. There have been good and fair meals. Today the bread was stale and the service was terrible. It's worth a try-may be you will catch them on a "good" day.

Ate here the other day. The food was decent, atmosphere sucked, but it was completely ruined by the staff SCREAMING at eachother, followed by the manager chiming in yelling the F word at one of his employees. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That's how you freaking treat your employees? That's how much you care about your customers? It's not like there were children around. Never again will I step foot in this place or miss an opportunity to bad mouth it.

Don't know why this place would ever be "Famous", unless mediocrity makes you famous. Its mostly a diner that serves wannabe Italian and gyros to aging retirees that are hoping for a comeback in boring diners with snappy waitresses sporting low country accents. The dessert case is your best bet. The decor looks like they purchased every Marilyn Monroe poster they could find at Ross and called it a day. This place will put you to sleep.

Came here today for lunch with my mom. She had the open-face roast beef sandwich and fries, I had the Gyro salad with a cup of veggie-pasta soup. Everything was delicious! The roast beef was fork tender, the fries hot and crispy. The Gyro salad was so big I used the bread plate to put the meat on just so I could manage to cut the whole thing into bite sized pieces. Service was ok, our waitress was Sonya, maybe it was because she was so busy, but we had to have another waitress remind her we were there and ready to order! All in all a good experience and I really want to eat here again!!!

Not a place that cares about customers. My wife, a friend and myself visited on a slow Monday night. I ordered open faced turkey sandwich with corn and baked potato. My wife ordered stuffed bell peppers with French fries. Our friend ordered a salad. I received roast beef with green beans and baked potato with no explanation. My wife received bell peppers with baked potato with no explanation for changes. When asked why we didn't get what was ordered, we were told they were out. The server showed no concern for their mistakes or excuses for not serving what was ordered or offering another choice. Why do they have menus if they bring what they want instead of what you order? My friends salad was good as was the bread. I am ashamed that I paid the bill AND left a 20% tip. It will be my last as I will vote with my feet. Stay away from this place!!

This place doesn't look like much, but is actually a nice little restaurant. I got the gyro platter for $10 which comes with a Greek salad, soup, and bread. More than enough food for the price and all of it was good. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick relatively cheap place to eat.

I come here very frequently because I'm obsessed with the bread. It's just amazing. The chicken and rice soup is also amazing. (between the bread and the soup I'll be full for less than $5) Everything else is generously portioned, average priced and very good. It's certainly not an upscale restaurant or anything, but if you're looking for a casual place to get some comfort food (or amazing bread/soup) then this is perfect for you.
